The Advantages of Waterproof Abrasive Paper

Ⅰ. What is waterproof abrasive paper?

Waterproof abrasive paper is also called waterproof sandpaper, because it can be immersed in water or sanded with water during use. Waterproof abrasive paper is based on water-resistant latex paper or water-resistant kraft paper, and uses various resins as binders. It is a coated abrasive made of aluminum abrasives or silicon carbide and other abrasives firmly adhered to the substrate, which can be processed into pages of A4 paper size and various customized sizes.

Ⅱ. The characteristics of waterproof abrasive paper

1. Waterproof sandpaper is polished with water without dust hazard, and dust explosion will not occur;

2. The polishing quality of waterproof abrasive paper is higher than that of ordinary dry sandpaper. When sanding with water, the surface of the sandpaper should not be blocked, and the sandpaper has a long life.

3. Waterproof abrasive paper has a wide particle size distribution ranging from P60 to P3000. It is suitable for the product, and the finest dry sandpaper is about P1000. Water sandpaper is especially suitable for fine-grained and high-precision polishing.

4. Compared with other precision abrasive materials, the fine-sized waterproof abrasive paper is more cost-effective and relatively cheap. It can be used for both water and dry grinding, and has a wide range of adaptability.

Waterproof abrasive paper is mainly silicon carbide abrasives according to abrasives; and there are ordinary low-priced binder sandpapers and medium and high-grade water sandpapers with synthetic resin as the binder according to binders.
